EU Links

This page offers links to a number of services offered by the European Commission, other EU Institutions and other Government Departments.

EUROPA is the server to the European Union. It contains many links including the European Parliament, Council and Commission. EUROPA also offers a more detailed explanation of EC Legislation through EUR-Lex, which is free to access once you are registered, and PreLex.

EUR-Lex is a comprehensive and authoritative information source on European Community Law. It offers multilingual, full-text coverage of a wide variety of legal acts including the founding treaties, binding and non-binding legislation, opinions and resolutions issued by the European Union Institutions and consultative bodies, and the case law of the Court of Justice. A user registration is required to use pages from the Official Journal. Under normal circumstances you will receive a user-id and password within minutes of registering. Please record your ID and password as you will be able to use them time and again. The EUR-Lex search facility permits two types of searches:

PreLex
Prelex follows all official documents (Proposals, Recommendations, Communications) transmitted by the Commission to the legislator (the Council - the Parliament) and to other institutions and bodies. It allows you to monitor the decision making process between the Commission and other institutions, and is free to use.
