The effectiveness of labeling of pesticides

Investigates the effectiveness of pesticide labeling. A survey of current pesticide labels facilitated the development of a toxonomy for describing and classifying the information that is presented to users. Currently the majority of safety information is presented as an instruction rather than as a hazard or consequence statement. Concludes that personal instruction statements presented in the directions for use resulted in the highest levels of compliance.
