Advanced Search - Example 6 |

Example 6 - Find Breaches where the defendant was fined at least £1000 in a magistrates OR crown court (Uses three search criteria including "OR" condition and Amounts)
Use the following steps:-
1 On the Home Page, click on Advanced Search
Add your 1st criteria to the search
2 In the Cases or Breaches box select Breaches
3 Click on Continue
4 In the Search Item box select Fine
5 Click on Continue
6 In the Enter the Fine operand list, select ">" and enter "£999.99" into the blank field. See Operand or Condition for more details on how to use the operands with amounts.
7 Click on Add.
Please Note:
In the Current Search Criteria area, "Searching for Breaches where fine > £999.99" is displayed. If you wish to see the results using only this criteria, then click on Go now. Click the Back button on the Toolbar to return to your search.

Add your 2nd criteria to the search
8 In the Additional criteria condition box select AND.
9 Click on Continue.
10 In the Search Item box, select court level.
11 Click on Continue.
12 In the Court Level box select Magistrates Court
13 Click on Add.
Please Note:
In the Current Search Criteria area, "Searching for Breaches where fine > £999.99" AND court level = "Magistrates Court" are displayed. If you wish to see the results using only this criteria, then click on Go now. Click the Back button on the Toolbar to return to your search.
Add your 3rd criteria to the search
14 In the Additional criteria condition box select OR.
15 Click on Continue.
16 In the Search Item box select Fine
17 Click on Continue
18 In the Enter the Fine operand list, select ">" and enter "£999.99" into the blank field. See Operand or Condition for more details on how to use the operands with amounts.
19 Click on Add.

In the Current Search Criteria area, "Searching for Breaches where fine > £999.99" AND court level = "Magistrates Court" OR "fine > £999.99" is displayed. If you wish to see the results using only this criteria, then click on Go now. Click the Back button on the Toolbar to return to your search.

Add your 4th criteria to the search
20 In the Additional criteria condition box select AND.
21 Click on Continue.
22 In the Search Item box, select court level.
23 Click on Continue.
24 In the Court Level box select Crown Court
25 Click on Add.
26 Within the Current Search Criteria area, check that all the search criteria are listed as follows:-
Searching for Breaches where -
"fine > £999.99"
AND "court level = Magistrates Court"
OR "fine > £999.99"
AND "court level = Crown Court"
Tip:-
If you see a mistake, you can either click on Start Again, which clears all the search criteria or use the Back button on the Toolbar to move back a step at a time.
27 In a few moments, a hit list of Breaches where the defendant was fined at least £1000 and the Breach was part of a Case heard within a Magistrates OR Crown Court, is displayed.
28 Click on the Breach Number to view the Breach in more detail. E.g. Hearing Date, Court Name, Result, Fine etc.
29 Use the Back button on the Toolbar, to return to the list of Breaches
Please Note:
If there is more than one Breach associated with the Case a 'next' or 'back' button will appear beside the Case Number - click this to view each Breach in turn OR alternatively, click on the link 'Other Breaches in this case'
