The Daily Mail letter

Geoffrey Podger, HSE’s Chief Executive responds - 26 October 2007

Nigel Foreman's criticism of those who would seek to abolish all risk (letters, 26 October) is indeed well justified. The implication that this is the fault of the Health and Safety Executive is, however, wide of the mark. Our time is spent addressing the real risks that people face, particularly in the workplace where there over 240 deaths last year - not in taking the pleasure out of life.
