The Channel Tunnel Safety Authority (CTSA) has today published its Annual Report for the period from 1 April 2004 to 31 March 2005.
This is the 17 th Annual Report to be published by the CTSA and its working groups. Key features include:
- The impact of European Directives on arrangements for safety in the Channel Tunnel;
- The impact of change in Eurotunnel’s commercial and financial policies - Project DARE (Delivering Actions to Revitalise Eurotunnel);
- Recommendations during the year on Eurotunnel submissions, particularly in respect of modifications to safety arrangements and proposals from Eurotunnel to change the arrangements for controlling the gap between trains during single line operations.

The Safety Authority is the bi-national body that advises the UK and French Intergovernmental Commission on all matters relating to safety in the operation of the Channel Tunnel Fixed Link. The CTSA has five members from the UK and five from France and is chaired in rotation between the two countries. It is serviced by five Permanent Working Groups.
