Musculoskeletal disorders
Some of the Backs! 2005 National Stakeholders working with HSE have offered information which they feel may be of use to a wider audience. Below you will find brief details of the information offered by the National Stakeholders and suitable links which will take you to the information.
In June 2005 the BCGA announced the revision of Guidance Note 3 (GN3) titled Safe Handling and the Application of the Manual Handling (Operations) Regulations to Gas Cylinders.
The BCGA have also made available on their website (www.bcga.co.uk) a copy of their Technical Information Sheet 12 (TIS12) titled Handle Gas Cylinders Safely.
QBE have played an active role in supporting Backs! 2005 and they have been the sole stakeholder representative of the insurance industry. In support of Backs! 2005 QBE organised and ran a Liability Risk Manager's (LRM) Forum concentrating solely on the problem of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in the workplace. The event was very well attended by both QBE risk managers and representatives of clients insured by QBE. The programme for the day can be found at the QBE website.

In conjunction with the above event QBE have also published their latest edition of their QBE Issues Forum which concentrates on the problems surrounding MSDs in the workplace.
The QBE LRM Issues Forum has been developed to focus on, and analyse, current topical issues in the field of occupational health, safety, risk and insurance management and human resources.
