SHAD’s are a key workstream in the ongoing ‘Agriculture Revisited’ initiative and the Agriculture Sector Strategy. They are aimed at farmers and are free of charge. They are based on practical demonstrations covering everyday hazards focused on the main causes of fatal and major injuries and ill health. HSE has run over 160 of these events in the past eleven years, which have been attended by over 50,000 people throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The audience is usually made up of family farmers, the self employed and those employing up to four workers.
