Scotland’s Colleges – Health and Safety Community of Practice
The Health and Safety Community of Practice (HS CoP) was formed in conjunction with Scotland’s Colleges, to establish a health and safety network across the Further Education Sector.
The steering group who represent all of Scotland’s 43 colleges, is made up from seven college health and safety managers from various parts of Scotland.. This group liaises with strategic partners such as Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives (SCHWL) and HSE for policy and planning development. HSE and SCHWL are ex officio members of the steering group.
The College Sector “Health and Safety Community of Practice” website spreads shared practice across the sector and its webpage contains some useful guidance on illuminating practice. The agenda and minutes are displayed on the webpage for information. The HS CoP hosts two health and safety events and one conference per annum.
The steering group are contactable through the details on the website and are happy to have contributions from other Scottish partners with similar aims and objectives.
The aims include ;
- Stimulate the sharing of good health and safety practice
- Formulate examples of best practice health and safety procedures
