Guidance to all in construction on the legal obligations under the Regulations, which are a reminder that while, in most industry cases, head protection must be worn, it is only as an addition to wider prevention of safety risks not a substitute for them. Accordingly, this guidance emphasises that those responsible for on-site health and safety must, as a priority, first address the causes of head injury accidents, eg preventing objects falling from height – whilst also ensuring the correct headgear is worn.
With full text of all nine regulations and appendices of definitions. Styled presentation (eg bold, italics and colour coding) enables easy distinction between texts pertaining directly to the Regulations and those relating to the additional guidance provided.
