  • Department for Business Innovation and Skills
    Their mission is building a dynamic and competitive UK economy by: creating the conditions for business success; promoting innovation, enterprise and science; and giving everyone the skills and opportunities to succeed. They deal with enquiries relating to:
  • Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is the UK government department who oversees policies relating to chemicals.
    • DEFRA Animal Health and Welfare
      They deal with veterinary disinfectants under the Diseases of Animals (Disinfectants Approvals) Order 1978. Allows disinfectants to be placed on an approved list for controlling certain diseases if they have demonstrated efficacy to DEFRA.
  • Food Standards Agency
    The Food Standards Agency is an independent food safety watchdog set up by an Act of Parliament in 2000 to protect the public's health and consumer interests in relation to food. They deal with enquiries relating to:

  • Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD)
    The vision of the VMD is the responsible, safe and effective use of veterinary medicinal products.
