Oil and gas industry briefing

HSE, in partnership with Oil and Gas UK, organises industry briefing events about offshore key performance indicators (KPI's). Leading offshore operating companies share what they have been doing to develop KPI's and how they use them. These events are for:

• offshore engineers
• technical authorities
• production managers
• safety engineers and managers
• verifiers

HSE considers the effective use of KPI's should be a vital part of the safety management of any company operating in a major hazard sector. This event will also provide an opportunity for HSE to outline its current thinking about offshore. Find out more on the Oil and Gas UK website.

Conference on Safety Case Thorough Reviews

Aim:

To share with the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry OSD’s expectations and each other’s experience of Safety Case Thorough Reviews.

Objectives:

To increase awareness of HSE expectations of how duty holders should thoroughly review their safety cases;

To provide an insight into how HSE processes and uses Thorough Review summaries; and

To hear from Duty Holders their experience of undertaking Thorough Reviews.

Target Audience:

Those who:

1. have management responsibility for organising and undertaking of Thorough Review of Safety Cases; and
2. participate and consulted in the Thorough Review process.

Offshore Europe Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition

8th - 11th September 2009: Aberdeen

Offshore Europe is a bi-annual event held at the Aberdeen Exhibition Centre. There will be exhibitors from across the UK and global offshore oil and gas industry. Offshore Europe is a major event in Aberdeen and for the offshore industry. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will have a stand at the exhibition. The HSE are taking the opportunity at this event to raise awareness about what we aim to achieve as a regulator and what we believe industry needs to focus on to improve health and safety offshore.
