How to get involved - assessment of new nuclear power stations

The companies whose nuclear power station designs are being assessed by the nuclear regulators publish safety, security and environment reports. The public can view and comment on these reports. Find out more about how you can view the designs and make a comment.

The companies will consider the comments and will aim to respond within 30 days. The Environment Agency and ONR are overseeing the public involvement process and at key stages will publish reports summarising issues raised.

To complete its assessment of the reactor design safety cases by June 2011, the ONR will need to receive any comments on the designs in sufficient time to reflect them in the Step 4 reports. Therefore, ONR will not be able to consider any comments received via the current process after 31 December 2010.

However, ONR will continue to run its public involvement process after this date and you will be able to email them at new.reactor.build@hse.gsi.gov.uk, or write to them at the following address:
