LAPS - How does the scheme operate?

Long description of the process flow for the LAPS scheme

The LAPS scheme joins local authorities with so called "Partner Organizations". A "Partner Organization" can be a company, trade, charitable or other association.

The following steps are taken:

1. Initial meeting & document review
2. Agree evaluation programme
3. Sign agreement (Strongly reccommended)
4. Liason between lead authority & partner organisations & others LAs
5. Safety Management Review - full Health and Safety to target a specific issue.
   This step (4) and the previous step (5) may be repeated a number of times in a round robin fashion.
6. SMR Report
7. Organisation's response or action plan
8. Information posted on a secure internet site
