There are around 30 different food and drink manufacturing industries. Injury rates vary considerably between these industries as highlighted in the graph below. These rates vary from year-to-year although the overall trend is towards fewer injuries.
In 2009/10 the overall injury rate (i.e. combined 'O-3-D absence' and 'major' injuries) for food and drink manufacture was 1404 injuries/100,000 workers.
