The Science and Technology Group is composed of two parts that together provide a science and technology consultancy service spanning all of HSE’s major topics and activities.
Corporate Specialist Division provides technical advice and regulatory support across HSE on many hazards and their control, including chemicals (including REACH and notification of new substances), pesticides & biocides, noise and vibration, radiation, human factors, occupational hygiene, process safety, electrical and control systems, First Aid and occupational health.
The Health and Safety Laboratory is an in-house agency of HSE, providing research and consultancy to HSE, to other Government Departments and to business, across a broad range of topics.
