Terms of reference

Consider proposals and make recommendations to the Agriculture Industry Advisory Committee on:

Through specified projects contribute to a reduction in fatal and major accidents and incidents of ill health.
Develop and exploit innovative routes to reach the ‘hard to reach’ vulnerable workers, such as migrants and older workers.

Contribute to the development of an employer risk assessment tool for migrant workers
Develop and promulgate good practice case studies for the management of migrant workers
Review existing research; consider conducting additional research if necessary to identify the character and extent of the vulnerable worker population in agriculture and the causes of death, major injury and ill health associated with such vulnerable workers
Identify and exploit innovative routes to reach the ‘hard to reach’ vulnerable workers, such as migrants and older workers, and work jointly with others to raise awareness of minimum standards and, where appropriate, good practice for example through the supply chain and local community websites/groups
